Now that I have been doing credit repair for about four years, going on five I have learned some things. The first thing that I have learned is that the best customer to work with is one who has been referred by a loan officer or realtor. Why? Because in all honesty they have a very real reason to get their credit fixed, they want to have the all American dream of home ownership.
Now in spite of the fact that realtors and loan officers refer people to me, not everyone will see the urgency or the need in getting their credit fixed, so I would say five out of ten will enroll and three out of the five will finish the program and buy their home. So that is not too bad.
What I have also learned is that true busy realtors and loan officers will always have credit challenged clients. Now there are some realtors out there that say they only deal with A paper clients, which is cool, but if they are really busy and have a lot of business they will still run into credit challenged clients. Now the question is what do they do with their credit challenged clients, do they tell them they need to fix their credit and come back and see them, or do they have a credit repair person they can refer them too who will help them fix it.
I spoke to a very cocky loan officer one day and told me truthfully, he said if their credit is bad I tell them what to do to fix it and come back and see me when they do, because I do not have the time to work with them. Now my first though wow this dude is arrogant but then I said too him, how much business are you losing out on?
He said I have more than enough business do not need to worry about credit challenged clients and hung up on me. I thought to myself, wow. Now what this loan officer failed to realize is the potential he missed out. Realtors and loan officers that understand the big picture those who don’t won’t.
Imagine if you will. that you are a realtor and you get five to six people a month you can not get pre-approved for credit. Well if you send them to a qualified credit repair specialist who helps them fix their credit, and they come back to you and buy their home, and you do that once a month, that is 12 more clients you did not have.
However take it further, to that client that everyone else told them no, you got them the help they need. Now you become a hero to them and they are going to tell all their family and friends about the great realtor or loan officer who helped them get their new home and never gave up on them.
At the end of the day my goal is to help those credit challenged clients who want a new home to get one, and it may take some time but at the end of the day when they walk through that new home, they will not remember how long it took, they will only remember the joy that came with living the American dream.
